What this page does with your data, in short. The general ChessBase privacy policy applies as well.

  • On your deviceNothing. This page sets no cookies and writes nothing to your browser’s storage. It loads fonts, videos and scripts from our own server only.
  • Usage statisticsWe count, on our own server, which sections are viewed and for how long, which features are tried, the type of device, browser and operating system, and the country. The country comes from your IP address, which we use for that moment only and do not store. Like every web server, ours also keeps a technical log of each request, including the IP address, to find faults and abuse; the general privacy policy covers that log. Each visit gets a random number that lives in the browser tab and is gone when you close it. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control, we count nothing. We delete these statistics 90 days after the campaign ends. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing how this page is used (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).
  • The formYour e-mail address, and your name if you give it, go to ChessBase GmbH and to nobody else. We use them to tell you when ChessBase for Mac is available and, only if you tick that box, for the ChessBase newsletter. When you register, we link your visit on this page to your entry, so we can see which parts of the page led to it. We delete the list after the launch mailing, or earlier if you ask.
